With more than 750 outlets and 9,000 employees across the UK, Starbucks is a staple ingredient of every healthy high street. It features ethically sourced coffee and Fairtrade espresso. It also gives out Starbucks shares to full and part-time employees. Not bad…old bean.
Starbucks asked Words&Pictures to help with its ‘Great Place to Work’ annual awards entry. The communication needed to show just how engaged Starbucks employees are, and to record the huge amount of time and energy the company had put into making sure its people are happy at work.
W&P created Our Starbucks Moments – a beautiful book of original photography and real stories documenting life at Starbucks, fly-on-the-wall style. The team travelled the country meeting Starbucks’ people in action, understanding the culture. The results of an in-depth cultural audit were used to keep the book authentic and ensure that it captures the personality and emotion around the brand. As a trusted publication, it’s now used to bring the values of the brand to life among employees. Oh, and it helped Starbucks boost its position in the UK’s Best Workplaces 2012 survey.
